Spotless Stadium - Sydney Showground

Spotless Stadium is a family-friendly sports venue and puts visitors right in the heart of the action. A boutique arena with a 24,000 person capacity, it has an intimate atmosphere that makes fans feel like they’re part of the game. It was originally built as Australia’s premier baseball venue and was opened in 1998. It was used as the main baseball arena during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and plays host to the Sydney Royal Easter Show arena events each year.

The Stadium received a $65 million upgrade in 2012 to create a first-class venue with VIP corporate suites, open-air Skydeck and function rooms. Two new grandstands were built to boost the seating capacity from 13,000 to 24,000 while a large video screen was also constructed and playing arena reconfigured to allow for AFL matches.

Spotless Stadium - GWS Giants

The Sydney Showground previously hosted NRL matches with the Canterbury Bulldogs playing there in 2001 attracting a record crowd of 21,895 against the Eels. The stadium hosted its first cricket match in January 2015 with the Sydney Thunder playing two home games there due to ANZ Stadium being used for the Asian Cup. As of the 2015/16 season, the Thunder have moved all their games to the stadium.

The venue was previously known as Skoda Stadium for Giants home games in 2012 and 2013, then briefly Giants Stadium before Spotless purchased the naming rights for the in February 2014 for a five-year period for the AFL season only, however as of July 2014 it was known as its commercial name year-round. This deal will finish prior to the 2019 AFL season with the name reverting to Sydney Showground Stadium. As well as the main stadium, there are over 20 other spaces to choose from at Sydney Showground including the Dome (which was used for basketball during the Sydney Olympic Games) and Exhibition Halls for indoor sports.
